Swindon cruiserweight Luke Watkins talks to Your Sport Swindon after his knockout win against Sandor Balogh on Sunday night.
The second round stoppage was Watkins’ sixth consecutive win since turning professional in September 2014 and sets him up nicely for a busy 2016.
Watkins, who has now got four career stoppages to his name, will now go on the hunt for a title shot in the new year with his 2016 campaign due to begin in February.
His performance against Hungarian rival Balogh at Grange Leisure Centre on Sunday was impressive as he controlled the opening round and then found his range to floor his rival with a big right hand.
Stablemate Garvey Kelly suffered a defeat but Watkins backed his colleague to bounce back in the new year.
Watkins was also impressed with the performance of Sam Smith, another Paddy Fitzpatrick boxer, who made a winning debut.
