Swindon Shock Wheelchair Basketball took on Great Britain Coyotes at the weekend and came out on top 53-49.

The Great Britain Coyotes are made up of current and future paralympians but it was Swindon Shock who dominated this National League Division One South match early on.


Swindon Shock finished the first half with a 17-point lead with Mac Tomlinson and Lewis Bird doing most of the damage for the home side.

The second half though was a different story as Great Britain fought back, clawing back Swindon’s lead thanks to their clinical finishing.

Great Britain closed to within a few points with just seconds left but Swindon Shock’s experienced players Martin Lane, Stewart Elliott and player-coach Jamie Hamilton showed maturity to hang on for victory

Scoring for the Shock were Mac Tomlinson 35 points, Lewis Bird 10, Martin Lane 6 and Jordan Hunt 2.

The result leaves Swindon Shock in fourth place in National League Division One South, four points off top spot with two games in hand.
