In monsoon like conditions at Greenbridge Road, Swindon stormed to a 10-0 lead at half-time against Witney.

Swindon took the lead when Adam Westall coolly slotted home a penalty.

On 23 minutes Jordan Sheppard powered over the Witney whitewash, making the most of some sustained Swindon pressure.

Westall was on hand again to beat the wet and windy conditions and add the extra points.

For the rest of the first half Swindon found themselves in Witney territory although they failed to stick any more points on the board.

It was a torrid second half for Swindon as Witney clawed their way back into the match.

Despite some gutsy defending by Swindon, sustained Witney pressure eventually told on 50 minutes as the visitors drove over the line for their first try courtesy of Charlie Bennett.

George Lewis kicked the extra points for Witney and two minutes later they were level when Lewis added a difficult penalty goal.

Swindon then lost Oliver Wilson to a yellow card with Lewis kicking another difficult penalty goal to give Witney the lead.

Despite being a man down, Swindon pressed to get back into the match without success as they suffered a fourth straight defeat in South West 1 East.
