Pinehurst A put up a resolute performance with only seven players against Croft A in Division One, as they recorded their second win of the season to go top.

A blood injury was called at the beginning of the second quarter causing the team to be reduced down to six, but Pinehurst stepped up their game, and managed to keep possession of the ball for most of the quarter. Pinehurst managed to win the game 45-36, with Lauren Larcombe receiving player of the match.

Lawn A started strong against Raychem A and were leading the match up until the third quarter, showing some very fast mid-court play from Tash Chilambo (who received player of the match). Lawn couldn’t keep hold of the lead and eventually lost the match 59-40.

Elsewhere in Division One, Pinehurst B were comfortable 49-14 winners over Delta Reds A, Burmah A overcame Raychem B to win 48-35 and Razzle Dazzle were 50-40 winners over Abbey Meads A.

In Division Two, Lawn C put on a great performance despite missing several players, but failed to catch Croft B who won 42-20 as Sandra Wright received player of the match for her faultless defensive play.

Elsewhere, Fariford A defeated Nationwide A largely down to fabulous defending from Libby Ogbomo and Elina Ahwlin ensuring Nationwide struggled to convert opportunities as Fairford went on to win, 47-30. Chloe Dodgson was given player of the match for Fairford.

Lawn B won their match against Nationwide B. Lawn took a convincing lead and Nationwide failed to close the deficit leading to a great win, 49-33, with Goal Shooter Karen Rawlings earning player of the match.

In Division Three, RWB A secured a 46-17 win over Abbey Meads B. Great work from RWB’s defence put pressure on the opposition, good positioning from Goal Shooter and player of the match Liz Kelly and accurate feeding from circle edge secured the win with Georgina Fisher making her debut with a strong performance as Goal Attack.

Purton A overcame Delta Reds B, who were missing a couple of key players through injury. The first and second quarters were very close in what proved to be a very low scoring game, but a late flurry in the final minutes saw Purton extend their lead to a comfortable winning margin of 27-16. Devina Jolene Wilson was awarded player of the match for Delta.

In tough conditions, Croft D narrowly defeated Nationwide C 15-14 despite a final quarter fightback from Nationwide as Kate Moore clinched their player of the match award.

Raychem D’s defence proved just too strong for Fairford B, as they went down 39-22. It was a fast paced game with plenty of goals, with Goal Shooter Rebecca Foster scooping Fairford’s player of the match.

Croft C defeated Moredon B 38-32 to register their first win of the league campaign.

Delta C produced an impressive performance to overcome Jets B in Division Four. Some fantastic shooting from Vicky Parker and Ann Forrester meant that Delta were nine up going into the second half, and it was a lead they never relinquished as they eventually won 37-22. Dee Wilson was awarded player of the match for Delta.

Lawn D put up a strong fight and had a close match, but were blighted by injuries and couldn’t catch the league leaders Raychem E, eventually losing by 12 goals. The final score was 43-31, with Lawn’s Centre Lauren Twine being awarded player of the match.

Coleview moved into second with a 40-29 triumph over Pinehurst D, whilst there were victories for Raychem F (38-23 against Croft E) and Faringdon who were 47-37 winners over RWB B.

A new combination of RWB C team players took to court against the youthful Lawn E in Division Five, which meant a tight start to the game. With some position changes and fresh legs in the third quarter, RWB took the lead, holding off Lawn to secure their second successive win with a final score of 26-21. Kate Pontin got player of the match.

Abbey Meads C thumped Moredon C 36-5 to record their first win of the season whilst Burmah C and Melsham were victorious over Ferndale and Purton B respectively.
