Highworth Town manager Jeff Roberts expects his side to aim for the play-offs this season in Southern League Division One South.
After holding their own last term in what was their maiden season in the Southern League, Highworth boss Roberts believes it’s time to push for promotion.
Roberts was left frustrated last term by player reliability and is confident he has put together a squad of players committed to the cause this season.
Speaking after the goalless pre-season friendly against neighbours Swindon Supermarine, Roberts said he is looking forward to the challenge ahead.
“We’ve had a little bit of a clear out and changed it a little bit,” said Roberts. “Some of the lads who have come in have shown a great attitude.
“We are looking for a more settled side and commitment from players. If you look at us last year, we didn’t have the same back four in two games.
“As a club our aim is to try and hit the play-offs. If we can do better than what we did last year then it is a progression.”
Highworth return to action on Tuesday night when they face Warminster Town.
