Watch this great moment when Swindon Spitfires Ice Hockey Club’s mascot Alfie Loveday scored a goal during the charity match against Brimble Hill Elite.

Loveday was one of two mascots on the day to make a surprise appearance off the bench and, moments after hitting the ice the youngster was on hand to score a superb goal.

The youngster’s effort was also assisted by his father Gary, with the pair celebrating the goal shortly after.

A large crowd gathered at the Swindon Ice Arena for the match which was raising money for Brimble Hill Special School with Swindon Spitfires taking on a team made up of players across all three English ice hockey leagues.

And it was Brimble Hill Elite who struck first when Darren Elliot scored the opener.

Three unanswered goals from Jordan Davis, Charlie West and Gary Loveday gave Swindon Spitifres a 3-1 advantage.

Goals from Brimble Hilll Elite mascot Leilo Bellamy, Adam Harding and Philip Sup saw Swindon Spitfires fall 4-3 behind.

Rob Croucher then levelled for Swindon before Alan Armour and Ciaran Long made it 6-4.

Alfie Loveday then pulled a goal back for Swindon before Brimble Hill Elite wrapped up victory thanks to goals from Jackson Price, Michael Stratford and Tomas Rutkis.
