Swindon boxer Kelly Morgan will take on world number 10 Elene Sikmashvili when she makes her return to the ring next month.

The Georgian boasts a winning record of eight wins and just the one defeat but Morgan remains in confident mood ahead of the clash which will take place at Swindon’s Oasis Leisure Centre on October 24th.

And having made an explosive professional debut by stopping Hungarian Klaudia Vigh in just 94 seconds, Morgan has her sights set on a second successive knockout.

“I’m thrilled to be matched with Sikmashvili,” Morgan told Your Sport Swindon. “She has a strong record of eight wins and one loss and is ranked 10th in the world, so she should offer good opposition in what will be a thrilling contest.

“Sikmashvili has won four of her eight professional contests by knockout so I believe she’ll come to fight, however, I know she won’t have felt my power before.

“I’m looking for a second KO to add to my debut against Vigh.”

Having made her debut in Bath, Morgan is relishing the chance to fight in Swindon, and has urged the town to get behind her.

“I can’t wait to box in my home town especially as I had to take my debut out of town, in Bath,” she added.

“I was so thrilled by the travelling support I received in Bath and I hope this will grow in numbers and volume for October 24th at the Oasis.

“It’ll be immense and Sikmashvili will quickly come to realise she has to take on the whole town not just me.

“I’m really hoping Swindon gets behind me for this one, a good result here will mean a big step forward in my quest to become World Champion.”

Morgan’s clash against Sikmashvili will take place at middleweight and looks set to be part of a bill featuring a host of fellow Swindon boxers.

Swindon welterweight Ryan Martin will contest his first title, a Championship belt, against Faheem Khan while Danny Bharj and Kelvin Young look set to feature on the undercard.

Paddy Fitzpatrick’s trained boxers Luke Watkins, Garvey Kelly and Sam Smith, are also penned in for the Swindon show.
