Swindon’s Young fired up for TV debut

Swindon super middleweight Kelvin Young is in confident mood ahead of his English title eliminator against Leon McKenzie tonight.

The former Penhill amateur says he cannot wait to make his debut on Sky Sports and revealed his family have been the ones driving him on throughout this training camp.

Young takes on McKenzie at London’s Copper Box, with the victor landing a shot at the English title, and the Swindon boxer is confident that he will be the only winner on the night.

 

 

Both boxers weighed in on Friday at the Copper Box ahead of tonight’s fight with Swindon’s Young slightly heavier.

Young weighed in at 11st 13lb 7oz with Mckenzie hitting the scales at 11st 12lb 5oz.

Promoters Matchroom have also announced the running order for tonight’s action with Young v McKenzie the last fight of the night.

The fight will be televised live on Sky Sports and will follow tonight’s main event between George Groves and Andrea Di Luisa.
