Razzle Dazzle made it four wins from five Division One matches when they overcame Pinehurst B at the weekend.

The 45-31 result moved them five points clear of Raychem A in second, who defeated club mates Raychem B.

The first quarter started with some nerves from both sides and there was nothing between the two teams at the end of quarter one with the score 11-11.

However, it all changed going into the second quarter and by the end of the first half the A’s had managed to get a ten goal lead, 28-18.

It continued to be a tough battle between the teams in the second half but Raychem A continued to extend their lead, with a final score of 55-36.

Vicki Wilson was awarded player of the match for Raychem A, with Beckie New getting player of the match for the B team.

Lawn A were also victorious after a tight match against Pinehurst A.

Lawn led by six goals in the first quarter with some great interceptions from WD Carly Sparrow and rebounds by GK Shelley de Boer.

The second quarter saw Pinehurst regroup and come out fighting, but Lawn stayed strong and put great pressure on Pinehurst’s attack.

Lawn continued to stay ahead in the second half, even with some position changes, and went on to win 51-48 with GS Abbey Simpson receiving player of the match.

There were also victories for Croft A and Moredon A who overcame Abbey Meads A and Delta Reds A respectively. Charlie Barrett earned player of the match for Croft in their 46-43 triumph.

There was another inter-club match in Division Two as Lawn B narrowly beat Lawn C 40-37.

It was a close match from start to finish in the club derby, with the score level at half time after a rousing fightback from five goals down from the C team.

After edging ahead after the third quarter, Lawn B kept the lead with some great man-on-man defending and more interceptions and rebounds from Ehlana Drury who earned herself player of the match. Lawn C’s WD Ellie Holloway also won player of the match.

Also in Division Two, Raychem C fell just short of a fantastic fightback as they lost out 35-34 to Nationwide B who led by seven after the first quarter. Cally Warren scooped play of the match for Raychem.

Burmah B recorded a fifth straight win as they defeated Fairford A 51-36, Corsham moved into second behind Burmah with a 45-36 win over Croft B and Nationwide A overcame Jets A 48-27.

This week saw third place RWB A take on second place Raychem D in Division Three.

Both teams were evenly matched for the first half of the game with Bassett leading going into the third quarter.

Raychem took the lead in the third and managed to secure a win against their opposition, the final score was 46-39. Holly Aitkenhead was awarded player of the match for RWB with Belle Walker earning the award for the winners.

Purton A overcame Nationwide C and tricky conditions to register a 33-14 victory.

Purton led by seven after the second quarter and despite a player of the match performance from Nationwide’s GK Rebecca Pearson, they were unable pull it back against the league leaders.

Croft C were also winners as they beat Abbey Meads B 35-14, Delta Reds B overcame Croft D 37-26 and Moredon B registered their first win as they saw off Fairford B 36-31.

Lawn D took the win against Raychem F in Division Four.

Lawn played a slow and steady match and kept the lead from the first quarter.

The match was a close game with each quarter seeing Raychem only two goals behind Lawns lead.

In the last quarter accurate shooting from Lawn’s GA Holly Atkins helped Lawn finish the match three goals ahead of Raychem and was rewarded with player of the match. The game finished 34-31.

Some fantastic shooting from Raychem E’s Sydney Short earned her player of the match and her team a 56-36 win over Delta Reds C whilst Faringdon made it four consecutive successes after a win against Coleview 52-31.

Jets B defeated Croft B 43-29 whilst RWB B performed impressively to defeat Pinehurst D 53-14.

In Division Five, RWB C had a great game against Moredon C which showed both sides developing nicely. Bassett player of the match was Sharron O’Neill as they won 43-7.

Abbey Meads C overcame a seven-goal deficit to beat Lawn E 25-21.

Abbey Meads began with a rocky start, ending the first half down by seven goals.

But great defending in the circle saw Abbey Meads creating turnovers and as Lawn made a few mistakes, it gave Abbey Meads more control of the ball and more goals in the second half.

Kavee Pack was given player of the match for the winners whilst Lawn’s GA Brook Drayton was also given the award.

There was also for league leaders Melksham as they beat Raychem G 47-12, whilst Burmah C and Purton B overcame Fairford C and Ferndale respectively.
