Swindon’s Charlie Shotton-Gale will compete in the IPF World Powerlifting Championships this week in Luxembourg.
The championships will mark Shotton-Gale’s return to competitive action after fully recovering from injury.
Injuries to her neck and a rib joint have ruled Shotton-Gale out for an entire year but after nine months of rehabilitation, she is determined to make a big impact at the World Championships.
Talking to Your Sport Swindon, Shotton-Gale said: “I severely damaged my neck muscles at the beginning of this year after I let a rib joint sprain go untreated.
“It has taken me nine months of careful rehab to get back to lifting.
“But now I am back, I am so ready to step out on stage and perform out of my skin!”
Shotton-Gale competes on Friday and you can watch her live on the Goodlift website http://goodlift.info/live.php
