Swindon Town Ladies boss Steve Robertson believes his side are not far away from the other teams in the Women’s Premier League Southern Division.
A 4-0 opening day defeat at Charlton, one of the favourites for promotion from the division, has not left Robertson disheartened with many of his players’ performances impressing the Town Ladies boss.
While Robertson accepted that Charlton were worthy winners on the day, he also believes Town can compete at this level but they may face a stiff learning curve early on in the season.
Attentions now turn to this weekend’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur and although Robertson is targeting victory he says producing a good performance is the most important thing for his team.

Town travel to Tottenham this Sunday before travelling to Denham United on September 4th in the Women’s Premier League Cup.
Robertson though is looking forward to the club’s first home match against Portsmouth on Sunday, September 11th and hopes their home pitch at Shrivenham Football Club could be “a leveller”.
