Swindon boxer Luke Watkins talks to Your Sport Swindon after claiming a classy points win on Saturday night.

The Paddy Fitzpatrick trained cruiserweight produced a slick performance as he outpointed Hungary’s Tamas Bajzath 80-72 at Swindon’s Oasis Leisure Centre.

Swindon welterweight Ryan Martin also produced a stunning display of boxing as claimed a Challenge title after beating Exeter’s Faheem Khan 80-72.

Danny Bharj was another Swindon boxer on the night to produce a fine performance as he outpointed tricky lightweight rival Liam Richards 40-36 over four rounds.

Paddy Fitzpatrick’s Garvey Kelly delighted his fans with a shut out 40-35 win against Danny Donchev.

Having lost to Faheem Khan on his last outing in Swindon, Kelly banished that memory with a professional display in which Donchev had a point deducted for use of the head in round three.

Fellow Swindon boxers Kelly Morgan and Kelvin Young both found themselves in tough fights.

Morgan, in just her second professional fight, had her hands full against Hungary’s Melinda Lazar.

Despite being the shorter opponent, Lazar showed her metal as she bravely traded with the hard-hitting Morgan.

Middleweight Morgan though gritted her teeth throughout and looked capable of stopping Lazar after sending her to the canvas in round three.

However, the gutsy Lazar refused to quit making for a thrilling contest which saw Morgan triumph 58-56.

Super middleweight Young however had a disappointing night as his Challenge title contest against Keiron Gray was judged a draw.

The former Penhill amateur star struggled to outbox his opponent which saw both boxers fight at close range for the majority of the fight.

Young’s cause wasn’t helped by a point deduction as the judges scored the fight a draw.

Malmesbury’s Joe Hughes had a frustrating night after his contest against Tomas Bartunek ended after just one round after his opponent suffered a nasty cut.

And finally, Joe Beeden made a winning return to the Swindon as the super featherweight beat Qasim Hussain 40-36.
