Paddy’s Say: “Professional boxers should not compete at the Olympics”

In this week’s Paddy’s Say we discuss whether professional boxers should be allowed to box at the Olympic Games.

The president of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) Dr Ching-Kuo Wu recently declared that he is to abolish all regulations currently preventing professional boxers competing at the Olympics.

Under Wu’s new qualification rule, we could see the likes of Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao or Tyson Fury competing against amateur boxers at the Olympic Games.

Paddy Fitzpatrick says he “does not have a taste” for Wu’s grand plan and has warned AIBA to “keep their nose” out of it and just concentrate on promoting the sport at an amateur level.
