The 20-year-old Wrag Barn professional qualified for the event after finishing third in qualifying at Nailcote Hall.
Mumford will now return to the same venue for the final on August 12th, where he will be up against some of golf’s biggest names such as Paul Lawrie, Ian Woosnam and Charly Hull.
After a testing start to his professional career, the former Wrag Barn Club Champion says qualifying for this event is a major boost for his fledgling career.
A £25,000 first prize is on offer for the winner of the event and, although he accepts it is a tough ask, Mumford believes he has the ability to win it.
“I’m not going to say that I can’t win because I believe I can,” Mumford told Your Sport Swindon. “But when you see some of the names like Paul Lawrie, former Open champion, and some of the young LPGA golfers like Carly Booth and Charly Hull then it’s going to be a very tough challenge but it is one that hopefully I can claim a few scalps and get my name on the leaderboard above theirs and see what happens.
“I’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain. I get to meet a lot of accomplished pros and a lot of other players who are just starting like me.
“It is going to be a really fantastic experience in this early stage of my career.
“I’d love to play with Paul Lawrie and I wouldn’t mind playing with Ian Woosnam or Sam Torrance.
“I’m just excited to get out there and see what I can do.”
