Boxer Ryan Martin talks to Your Sport Swindon ahead of his first title fight later this month.

The 21-year-old takes on Exeter’s Faheem Khan on October 24th when the pair will contest a welterweight Challenge title at Swindon’s Oasis Leisure Centre.

Martin comes into the fight on the back of a stunning knockout win last month when he stopped Linas Meistavicius inside two rounds at Gloucester.

The fight against Khan is described by Martin as his most dangerous yet and the Swindon boxer knows he will have to be wary of his rival’s unorthodox style.

Khan is also no stranger to the Oasis Leisure Centre and has fond memories of his last fight there when he stopped Swindon boxer Garvey Kelly. However the Exeter boxer comes into the clash against Martin on the back of a second round knockout Georgie Kean back in July.

Joining Martin on the bill is Fitzpatrick boxer Kelly – a fellow welterweight who he appears to be on collision course with.

Martin told Your Sport Swindon that he would like that fight to happen in the near future although he is not sure when that might be.

Kelly is also joined by fellow Fitzpatrick boxer Luke Watkins who is chief support on the show.

Topping the bill is Malmesbury super lightweight Joe Hughes who defends his English title.

Elsewhere, Swindon’s Kelly Morgan is also in action, fighting in Swindon for the first time as a professional boxer.

Morgan takes on Georgian Number One Elene Sikmashvili in a middleweight contest.

Joining Morgan on the undercard is fellow Swindonians Danny Bharj, Joe Beeden and Kelvin Young while Chippenham’s Ben Heap makes his professional debut.

Tickets are now on sale for the show, which is a Mayo Boxing Promotion in association with Paddy Fitzpatrick, by visiting the www.kmpromotions.co.uk
