Swindon welterweight Ryan Martin has vowed to stay busy after making a successful return to the ring after eight months of inactivity.

The 22-year-old show no signs of ring rust as he celebrated a dominant 60-54 success against tough Lithuanian Arvydas Trizno at Neilson Boxing’s New Beginning Show.

Martin was delighted with his performance and admitted it was probably a blessing in disguise to get rounds under his belt.

The focus now for Martin is to keep busy and he would love a return to the ring as early as July as he focuses on a Southern Area title shot before the end of the year.

Former Walcot ABC star Martin dominated the bout from start to finish, particularly targeting the body of Trizno.

Martin showed no signs of ring rust despite his eight-month absence from the ring prior to this fight, immediately unloading on Trizno.

His cutting body shots visibly hurt Trizno but the Lithuanian used all his experience to stay on his feet.

Martin grew in strength as the fight went on, impressing with numerous combinations and fine footwork.

The Swindon boxer showed signs of creating an opportunity to stop Trizno but the Lithuanian showed tremendous mettle to survive Martin’s six-round onslaught.

It was yet another patient and mature performance from Martin as he claimed another win in some style.
