Swindon welterweight Ryan Martin believes his eight-month absence from the ring has made him hungrier than ever for success in the sport.

Martin, who last boxed back in October 2015, believes his inactivity has actually been a blessing in disguise allowing him to hone his boxing skills further.

The 22-year-old says he is “itching” to get back in the ring on June 10th at Neilson Boxing’s New Beginning show where he will fight Arvydas Trizno.

And once he has dealt with Trizno, Martin says that it won’t be long before he targets another title to go with the British Challenge belt he won back in October.

Martin is chief support to Swindon middleweight Kelly Morgan, who fights for the WBC Silver title against Gifty Amanua Ankrah.

There is also a packed undercard at Grange Leisure Centre featuring former Swindon whitecollar star Ross Alexander along with Gloucester fighters Akeem Ennis Brown and Andy Harris.

Completing the line-up is exciting debutant Des Newton.
