Walcot boxer Owen Poole made his debut for the club in a skills contest at the National Smelting Club dinner event at the Henbury Social Club last Saturday.
The 12-year-old faced Lewis Greenslade from the host club over three one minute rounds in an entertaining contest.
Greenslade started the better in front of his home supporters, landing with his left jab whilst keeping on the move.
Poole grew in confidence as the bout progressed, and began to hit the target with left jabs of his own during the middle session.
Both lads attacked during the final round, with both receiving a great ovation at the final bell from the packed crowd.
There is no result in a skills bout, so both boxers had their arms raised by the referee.
Walcot Coach Daniel Hughes said afterwards: “It was great for Owen to get some ring experience this evening, as he has not been in our gym for very long.
“He has trained hard recently to make this bout, and he will learn a lot from it.”
