Swindon super middleweight star Kelvin Young paid a visit to Crowdys Hill School to give an inspirational speech to students.

The former IBO intercontinental champion addressed a packed room of Crowdys Hill students and parents at the school’s end of year presentation evening for their year 11 pupils.

Young also handed out certificates to each of the students and said it was an honour he was only too happy to help out with.

“The school asked if I would come and say a few words and hand out the certificates and I am only too happy to help,” said Young.

“It’s an honour for me to do something like this and hopefully the stories I told the pupils can help them in their lives as they prepare to further their education and begin their careers.

“I’ve had to work hard to get to where I’ve got to in life and it’s great that I’m in a position where I can give something back to the community and hopefully inspire youngsters like this to do great things in life.

“It was great to see the smiles on the faces of the students when they saw and held my belts.”
