Goals from Bradley Gray, Jacob Davidge and Luke Hopper saw Swindon Supermarine bounce back from a goal behind to beat Wantage 3-1.

The Southern League Division One South & West encounter didn’t get off to the best of starts for Supermarine when Sam Morris picked up an injury with just three minutes on the clock.

Matters got worse for Supermarine shortly after when former player Jake Johns headed home on 11 minutes to give Wantage the lead.

Supermarine though bounced back on 20 minutes when Gray shot high into the net from a free-kick.

Both sides had good chances to score before the break with Ryan O’Hara testing the Wantage keeper from a free-kick while Matt Bulman had to pull off an excellent save to deny the visitors a second goal.

Just three minutes into the second half Supermarine took the lead when Gray’s cross picked out Davidge to side foot home – his fourth goal in three games.

Ash Edenborough then saw his chip roll along the crossbar while Ross Adams’ header struck the post.

Supermarine wrapped up another three points though when substitute Hopper tapped in Conor Waldon’s cross with just two minutes remaining.

A trip to Tiverton next Saturday is the next test for Supermarine who are currently on a four-match unbeaten run.
