Jason Hudson was the star for Bassett as he scored a hat-trick to help the Swindon & District Division One side beat Premier Division outfit DJC Marlborough.

Hudson scored the opener on 13 minutes, firing a powerful left-footed strike into the bottom corner.

Adam Bukowski levelled matters on 22 minutes bursting past the Bassett defence to coolly slot home with the outside of his left foot.

Marlborough then took the lead on 53 minutes when they were awarded a penalty – Michael Robinson making no mistake from the spot.

Moments later Hudson capitalised on a mistake in the Marlborough defence to loop the ball over DJC keeper Brad Little.

Bassett Bulldogs then retook the lead when player-manager Colin Cochrane scored a penalty.

Minutes later Bulldogs were reduced to 10 men but it made little difference as Hudson completed his hat-trick on 75 minutes.
