A newly established football league is proving a big hit with local footballers who can’t commit to playing 90 minutes every weekend.

The Wiltshire Flexi League was launched back in November, providing a competitive 50-minute match for Veterans (Over 35’s) and Under 21’s on Tuesday nights.

Ten teams are currently competing in the league which is designed to encourage players who want to play football but don’t have time to play 90-minute matches at the weekend.

As well offering a reduced match time of 50 minutes, the league also allows teams to use rolling substitutes and there is also next to no administration for managers to carry out.

Football Development Officer Chloe Buller has been delighted with the initial response to the Flexi League format and expects its popularity to continue in 2016.

We caught up with Chloe at last week’s Flexi League and you can watch this interview by clicking on the video above.
