Fitzpatrick: Big fight ahead for female boxers

Welcome to our weekly chat with Paddy Fitzpatrick and today the Swindon boxing trainer discusses female boxing.

Fitzpatrick is no stranger to women’s boxing having assisted world renowned trainer Freddie Roach during his days with former world champions Laila Ali and Lucia Rijker.

The Swindon trainer also admitted he is a big fan of Swindon’s Kelly Morgan, who is poised to fight for a world title eliminator in the next few months.

While Fitzpatrick fully backs women competing in the sport he believes it will be a struggle and take a long time to change people’s perception of what he described as a “niche” market.
