FC Abbey Meads Vipers won the Wiltshire County Women’s and Girls’ U14 League Cup on Sunday after beating Swindon Spitfires 4-1.
With half of Vipers’ side having played for Spitfires last season, this cup final was always going to be a great battle and it didn’t disappoint.
The match began at a frantic pace with both teams working hard to stop each other playing.
Vipers though struck first though when a lovely through ball by Ellie Gulliver played in Nalani Hunt on the wing to cross for Lola Weise to tap home from close range.
The start of the second half was a tight affair with both defences working hard but midway through the half, Vipers scored twice in quick succession – Hunt on target on both occasions.
Spitfires then hit back by scoring an absolute screamer of a goal before Hunt struck again with five minutes remaining to notch her hat-trick.
FC Abbey Meads now face two tough games against Chippenham FC to determine which of the two sides win the league title.
