Embers Fury is the red-hot favourite to win tonight’s Calne Racing Arc at Swindon’s Abbey Stadium.
The Paul Sallis-trained runner is unbeaten in the competition so far and looks to have the perfect credentials to clinch the title and the £8,000 first prize.
Wednesday’s meeting will be screened live on Sky Sports 3 and front-running Embers Fury is expected to fly out of the traps early and set the pace of the race.
Embers Fury can expect stiff competition from a stellar field consisting of the 2015 Racing Post Juvenile winner Ballymac Brogan, British Bred Derby winner King Alley, Nottingham Puppy Classic winner Crossfield Cesar and major competition finalists Taranis Bolt and Queen Asia.
But having been drawn in trap one and being the only railer in the field, the smart money looks to be on Embers Fury.
Victory for Embers Fury would clinch a second Arc title for Sallis, who trained 2010 winner Farloe Titan.
The category one decider is due off at 9.08pm and is the showpiece of an action-packed 11 race card at the Abbey Stadium.
In the build up to the main event there are seven high quality supporting races that will also feature on the Sky Sports show.
Domino Storm, in the opener at 7.11pm, and Ballybee Brewery, in the sprint at 7.26pm, both have wonderful opportunities to showcase their top-class ability.
2015 St Leger winner Fizzypop Buddy makes an appearance at 7.59pm, contesting an extended six-bend event.
