They say you make your own luck and Swindon Supermarine’s Bradley Gray certainly deserved this slice of good fortune after he closed down the defender.
Gray refused to give up chase for the ball and when the Bridgwater defender attempted to clear his lines, the ball rebounded off the Supermarine man’s boot straight into the net.
Gray’s goal was the third for Swindon Supermarine as they clinched a 3-1 win against Bridgwater, a win that keeps them in third place in the Southern League Division One South & West table, just one point adrift of leaders Banbury United.
Chris Taylor gave Supermarine the lead courtesy of his 17th minute penalty. Gray added a second on 23 minutes before scoring his rebounded effort four minutes later.
Bridgwater scored the only goal of the second half with five minutes remaining of the match.
Supermarine are next in action on Tuesday when they entertain Evesham United.
