Cirencester ABC’s Lewis Varey was in top form when he represented Wales in Cardiff last weekend.

Taking on Ireland’s L Crawper who had a record boasting eight wins and just three defeats, Varey dominated all three rounds as he claimed a unanimous points decision.

Also in action in Cardiff was Sammy Harris, who took on Sugars’ J Evans in a high tempo all action bout and won a split decision.

Cirencester coach Simon Knowles said: “Lewis did very well to beat the boy, he was very strong. Sam did absolutely brilliant in what was a close bout, to beat a Welsh boxer in his own back garden was an achievement.’’

Cirencester travel to two shows this weekend, with three boys in action in Camberley in the daytime and travelling to Bournemouth with three in action in the evening.
Johnny McDonagh is also set to be called up for England after impressing during England training last weekend.
