NETBALL: Timbrell holds her nerve for Croft A

Becky Timbrell scored a last-gasp penalty shot as Croft A beat Delta A in dramatic style in Division One of the Swindon & District Netball Association league.

Trailing Delta by 10 goals early on, Croft bounced back with Jo Green and Cheryl Baker forcing vital turnovers.

Tarlia Clements was also in fine form as she fed shooters Becki Martin and Timbrell to inspire the Croft comeback.

Going into the last play of the game the scores were level but with Croft awarded a penalty shot, Timbrell held her nerve to secure victory for her side.

Also in Division One, Raychem B won their mid-table battle against Moredon A 39-36 with the defensive work of Nora Fletcher keeping out Moredon in the latter stages.

 

In Division Two, leaders Abbey Meads made in 16 straight wins as they beat Fairford 50-47.

 

Sarah Gibbs was Abbey Meads’ player of the match.

In Division Three, leaders Lawn C beat Jets A 50-36 in a top-of-the-table clash.

Marinanne Drew was Nationwide C’s player of the match as they lost against Delta Reds B 34-17.

In Division Four, Ally Giles was teh star for Raychem E as they beat Jets 31-28.

Division Five leaders Raychem F continued their fine form with a 62-20 success over Pinehurst E.
