Meet Mavis, Swindon’s “Mrs Netball”

Moredon Netball Club’s president Mavis Newman talks to Your Sport Swindon’s Craig Punfield about her career and the current state of the game.

Having played the sport from the age of 14, Newman loved the game so much that she didn’t play her final competitive game until she was 70.

Newman hailed Swindon’s current central netball facility at Dorcan and believes, thanks to recent media coverage, the sport itself is thriving.
